Established in 1889 as the leading educational institution in New Mexico, The University of New Mexico is currently located on nearly 800 acres (about half the area of Philadelphia Airport) near old Route 66 in Albuquerque. The city, with a population exceeding 900,000, spans from mess in the west to the Rio Grande and Sandia Mountains in the east. Albuquerque is a vibrant blend of diverse cultures, culinary delights, architectural styles, captivating stories, and many people and activities.
